By booking a course with Kitchen Skills you agree to accept these terms and conditions.
What is included in our courses
All ingredients, utensils, aprons, takeaway containers will be provided by us. Recipes will be available digitally, but a hard copy can be provided upon request. Refreshments are included in some courses – please see appropriate course details for further information.
Age Requirements
Adult Classes: Applicants must be aged 18 or over.
Youth classes : Applicants must be aged 5 to 16.
Health and Safety and Behaviour
The courses are held in a working kitchen and all participants will be given a briefing on health and safety before the course starts. Instructions on the use of the equipment and all reasonable steps to maintain safety in the kitchen, such as which equipment students are allowed to use, will be taken. However, we cannot be held responsible in the event of injury following behaviour which ignores that advice.
In accordance with our health and safety procedures we reserve the right to exclude any student who ignores advice and puts others or themselves at risk, without refunding course fees.
Children under 12 will not be allowed to use hobs, ovens and steel blade knives, without strict supervision. All students under 16 are prohibited from using any piece of equipment with a rotating blade e.g. blenders. Any Student not following advice given may be asked to leave the class.
All participants are expected to maintain a reasonable standard of cleanliness and a reasonable standard of safe behaviour.
We kindly ask that you help us clear your stations during and after the course, or as much as possible.
Please note that classes will start promptly and we will be unable to accept late-comers once the class has started. Children must be picked up promptly after the sessions.
We respectfully ask that food that has been cooked on the course be taken away promptly after the course and please be aware that it is the responsibility of the attendee to store food correctly and safely once it has left our premises.
Please be aware that we use induction hobs, which may interfere with pacemakers.
Allergies
Please inform us at the time of booking of any allergies, disabilities, diabetes, pregnancy, epilepsy, learning difficulties that may exist for you or your child. While it may not be possible to change the contents of the course we are happy to provide substitutes if you inform us at the time of booking.
Cancellations
Please be aware that we operate a strict 2 day cancellation policy. Cancellations after this time period and no-shows on the day of the class will become non-refundable and generally non-transferable. However, transfers may be considered in exceptional circumstances. Cancellations made 48 hours before the class is due to run are refundable and transferable.
Cancellations by Kitchen Skills
Please note that we require a minimum of 3 people to run a class (2 during COVID restrictions) If we do not meet this and are unable to run the class we aim to provide a suitable alternative within a reasonable period of time. If this is not possible, we undertake to make an a full refund of course fees.
Property
Please be aware that we cannot accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any property brought into the studio by applicants.
